Sonia Reiter, OTR/L, MSOT

Sonia is an occupational therapist specializing in pelvic floor therapy with a focus on the perinatal population.

In her work with clients, she uses awareness training, targeted exercise, breath work, yoga, manual therapy and lifestyle modification to help her clients find relief from conditions such as pelvic pain, prolapse, dyspareunia (pain with sex), incontinence/leaking, constipation, diastasis recti, general deconditioning and pre and postnatal complications.  Sonia is skilled in helping her clients navigate the psychological and social impact that pelvic floor issues have on relationships and day to day life.

Sonia is proud to collaborate in the care and treatment of pre and postpartum clients of Nettle Wellness Midwifery and Small Things Grow Midwifery. In addition to her work as a pelvic floor therapist, Sonia teaches pre/postnatal yoga classes and leads new parent support groups. She is also a part of the continuing education program at Ancient Song Doula Collective, teaches public workshops on the pelvic floor for Doulas and pregnant and postpartum people and presented at The Gold Midwifery Conference in 2023.

Sonia graduated from SUNY Downstate with a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy and received a Bachelor of the Arts in Dance from Oberlin College. Sonia trained in pelvic floor rehabilitation with Herman & Wallace Institute and Lindsey Vestal of the Functional Pelvis. She has over 500 hours of Yoga teacher training.

Sonia lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and two children.
